I bring to you this zinfandel, O forest, to romance you in a time of need. As I pour the liquid on your roots, the trees reach down to me, making love with their fingertips.
O! I drink to you, old forest. Your eyes that watch me when I need. Bring me back, my forest, the dignity that comes with loving thee.
And in your roots I find mine ashes. From them, you created life. I sacrifice my life, myself, to you- my forest.
So when I am a spirit, my soul is bound to you.
Mine life feels like your thickest tree: the weight tumbling down. I can barely stand, O forest! So here I lay me down to sleep.
