One. Control your temper, be reasonable, and respect one another. If you absolutely must debate a trivial matter, take it to private message, but do not continue to argue in the chatbox, on the public areas of the forum, et cetera. If things go out of hand, drop the matter altogether and contact a staff members, as we are here to deal with problems and make the site run smoothly.
Two. Do not discriminate based upon any information, including (and not limited to) race, sex, sexual orientation, or age. This ties in with respecting one another, which is a major rule when it comes to forums. Additionally, don't cuss up a storm and turn into Captain Saul the Sailor. Use curse words as tastefully as you can use words that are not tasteful in any way.
Three. Please keep material at a PG-13 level on a regular basis. If material dances dangerously toward an R/M rating, please label it as such, but do not allow such material to exist without tastefulness. We don't need ProBoards deleting this forum because you went into such graphic detail about Paul and Mary's sex life, savvy?
Four. Alphabet Hours is a writing forum aimed at improving the author. As such, all writing levels are allowed. However, that does not mean you should be lazy and stray away from proper grammar, spelling, et cetera. Part of improving means that you, yourself, are also trying to help yourself. Use Microsoft Word, spell checkers, et cetera before deciding to post anything; it saves the trouble of members pointing out your mistakes that could easily have been avoided, and it saves the trouble of you having to see said mistakes. Also, while nobody is perfect, please try your best to use appropriate grammar.
Five. While accounts will not be deleted, activity is a must. We're not asking you to post seven stories every day, but please try to sign on as frequently as possible and, better yet, post something. We have a debates area, a writer's block/games area, and an aesthetic art area in addition to the writing areas.
Six. If you plan on disappearing, please let us know so we don't have to worry about you. Additionally, if you want to delete your account for any reason, please let the staff know ahead of time so we aren't left in the dark. We'll miss our members, but we're not going to force anyone to stay against his or her desires.
Seven. While we're happy that you're posting thirty-seven stories per month, please be courteous and take the time to read and review other people's works. We're not going to force you to do so, but it's the appropriate thing to do as a writer for your fellow writers.
Eight. Don't turn the chatbox into your personal zone. It's great to jump in and get involved with all the conversations, but please don't let that be the only thing you get involved in. Additionally, all conversations in the chatbox are to be of an appropriate nature.
Nine. What's this, you say? You want to role-play? Alphabet Complex is an all-around role-play forum explicitly for members of Alphabet Hours. Enjoy!
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a staff member, preferably via private message. We're here to make the site run smoothly for the members (and, of course, ourselves), and we can't do that if the members don't cooperate. Additionally, if people are disrespecting one another, flaming, trolling, spamming, et cetera, appropriate actions will be taken.
