|NOTES| I wrote this ages ago, came across it randomly today and normally when I come across old poems and the like I no longer actually like them... that wasn't the case this time. Oh and as far as the tone goes, it is from the point of view of a girl who realized a bit too late the kind of guy she was getting herself involved with.
A seven letter word that steals your fate,
A promise is a promise so it seems too late,
Rip these words from my oblivious lips,
My demise at your criminal finger tips,
As there in my reflection,
Some invisible lethal injection,
From the words I so willingly spoke,
Forms a reality which forces one to choke,
If only one could simply rewind,
To before this simple tragic bind,
Unable to accept what is done, is done,
Nor justify this heart wretchedly over-run,
The burning taunting scar,
Of allowing it to get this far,
We knew the bliss simply would not last,
Oh the maddening thoughts of our past,
Sorrow bleeding into my pillow case,
Overwhelmed with feelings that I can never erase,
I said what I said, and I meant what I said
An oh so twisted web of time,
A cold and oh so heartless crime,
A tragedy that reality mocks,
Time stands still in these hollow clocks,
Guess this story boils down to sheer misery,
Forever means eternity, just you and just me.
