are we alone?
your queer two-eyed look
perplexes me , can you see
the world we've created underneath the dust ?

the underground undercover peers we turn our eyes to
are corrupted , but two eyed catastrophes
are no adversary to peace
without sight
lingering limbs , above our heads will crash .

we have dreamed our human dreams
of the end ,
of our desperate struggle for life
but we have not been awakened
like they have been awakened.
we are not enlightened ,
but are they ?
we cling to the fact that they are not
because surely
what we do not know
we can pretend .
for we are fearful
of what we do not know .

are you truly this sightless ?
insightless ,
for what we can't imagine .
but can you not see the end,
ominous above our heads ?
will there not be a war
far greater than those we have yet
encountered ?
for the true fear is not within a war with our
"brethren" but it is within a war
with those we know not how to fight .

whisper to me
and i can tell you stories of
lore and the disaster we have
created
and become .
are you truly so unknowing that
you believe your maker will destroy you ?
that is an act of mercy
we do not deserve .

Is this based on the movie 9? That's what it reminded me of. It's good, but all I got out of it really was thinking about the movie 9, and if it is inspired by the movie, then I understand it; if it isn't, then my blond hair will have gotten the better of me once again and I will need to re-read it. It is well-written though

YES ! It WAS based off of that movie ! It was literally one of my favorite movies. I read it and I was instantaneously inspired. No, you got it ! I really didn't know if anyone would realize what it was based on. YAYYY. But I wasn't talking about the little cute people things, I kind of made it more realistic.

I noticed, that was what made me doubt whether it was about 9 or not. Okay, so it is about 9, in that case I understand what it all means which makes me happy ^.^ very well written, I never thought about writing a poem about 9. It was one of my favorites for a time as well; a good portion of last year in fact. Your ability to put words into play strikes envy into me, as always. I have trouble getting away from my 4 line stanzas and typical rhyme scheme, but you so easily transition. You're truly amazing.
